In an annual Customer Satisfaction Survey, Skoda was voted one of the most popular brands with car owners, especially the Superb and Fabia.
The best people to ask about a car’s performance are its owners. Every year, JD Power gives 18,000 car owners the opportunity to rate their cars’ quality, reliability, appeal, service satisfaction and cost of ownership. Car owners can comment on any problems their cars suffered and the service dealers provided. They can also give their opinion on design and functionality as well as how satisfied they are with the cost of running their cars.
The vehicles in the survey are no older than three years. Only cars that were registered between January 2009 and December 2010 could be assessed. In total 10 classes of car, from small city cars to cabriolets and large SUVs, and 118 models were covered.
In the category Family cars, the Skoda Superb satisfied 82.7 percent of its owners. The vehicle impressed the drivers with a fantastic performance. It runs smoothly and the brakes are sharp.
Car owners praised its interior space making it the best family car. Children can stretch their legs in the back or kick their feet without bumping into the front seat. The boot offers enough storage space to accommodate the entire luggage a family needs when going on holiday.
Another big plus of the car are low running costs. The survey participants raved about the low cost of ownership and the high mileage helping young families to save money.
The Superb owners were also highlighted the classy styling of the car. The only assessment question where Skoda lost points was the dealer service. It couldn’t quite reach the customer service that Toyota Prius, the winner of the category, offers.
Skoda was also voted number 2 in another category. The Fabia scored highly among its Superminis competitors. The owners were very happy with the all-rounder car, its smooth engine and transmission. Whether driving it in the city during rush hour or on the motorway at full speed, the Fabia owners loved the responsive steering and the entire driving experience.
The survey participants gave the car four out of five stars for fuel economy and some of the lowest running costs in the class, making it the perfect budget car. And despite being a supermini, the car owners were more than content with the stowage space.
The Skoda Superb owners were so happy with the car that it was named the fourth best car across all categories (out of 118).
The high ranking placed Skoda among the three best car manufacturers of the year. It comes right after Jaguar and Lexus.
